Yes. Blooming Prep offers a summer program in addition to our year-round program, featuring outdoor exploration, creative arts, enrichment activities, special events and celebrations, and age-appropriate field trips. Current families receive priority enrollment before registration opens to the public.

Blooming Prep offers a year-round program and observes major holidays and scheduled professional development days. Families receive an annual calendar outlining holidays, school closures, family events, and celebrations.

Our approach is inquiry-based and child-led. We draw inspiration from Reggio Emilia, Maria Montessori, and contemporary research in early childhood education. Please see our Curriculum Page for more information.

Blooming Prep maintains staff-to-child ratios that meet or exceed New York City requirements. There are always two teachers and a rotating assistant in each class. Our classrooms are thoughtfully staffed to provide individualized attention in a safe and nurturing environment.

We view conflict as an opportunity for learning and growth. Using positive guidance, redirection, and age-appropriate conflict resolution strategies, children learn to express their feelings, listen to others, develop empathy, and solve problems together.

Yes. Limited stroller storage is available for approved compact bi-fold or tri-fold strollers. Please contact our office for current guidelines and recommendations. Scooter parking is also available.

Visits are arranged in advance whenever possible to support classroom routines and minimize disruptions to children's learning. Families are welcome to contact the school office for updates.

Providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment is one of our highest priorities. Blooming Prep provides multiple layers of security, including:

Secure entry access for authorized staff and enrolled families

Double-entry doors for children's safety

Authorized pick-up procedures with photo ID verification

Electronic attendance tracking for arrivals and departures

Security cameras in common areas

Ongoing staff training in CPR, First Aid, health, safety, and emergency preparedness

Parents or guardians may designate authorized pick-up individuals through our parent communication app or enrollment forms. Children are released only to approved individuals, and photo identification is required for first-time pick-ups. Authorized contacts may be updated at any time by contacting the office.

Please notify your child's teacher in advance so that we can help plan a meaningful celebration. Families who wish to provide a birthday treat may do so with prior approval from the school. We are a nut-free school, and all food must comply with our allergy and food safety guidelines. If a child has dietary restrictions or allergies, our staff will work with families to provide appropriate alternatives. If families choose to provide small party favors, all items must be age-appropriate, safe, and approved by the school.

Yes. We partner closely with families to support each child's potty-training journey in a respectful, encouraging, and developmentally appropriate way. We recognize that every child develops at their own pace, and we work together with families to create a consistent approach between home and school.

We recognize that children develop at different rates and bring unique strengths, interests, and ways of learning. Through ongoing observation and documentation, our educators identify emerging strengths and create opportunities that extend thinking, deepen understanding, and encourage exploration.

BP Connect is our secure family communication platform that keeps you informed about your child's progress, development, and daily learning experiences every step of the way.

At Blooming Prep, kindergarten readiness extends beyond academics. Children build strong foundations in literacy, language, mathematics, executive functioning, independence, creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and social-emotional development while developing confidence, critical thinking, and life skills to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.
